Fun fact about Archie metal sonic in case nobody knew. The first metal/mecha sonic, was actually never truly defeated. Sonic and Tails convinced him he could change and be good, so he sacrificed himself to save them. A while later, that og metal sonic was turned into Shard the metal sonic, who is basically metal sonic if he became good. Shard was so strong he could easily defeat base metal sonic with little to no struggle. Eggman saw this, and from that point forward, every version of Archie metal sonic that was created by eggman, if they tried becoming good, or even thought about changing, they would be soft rebooted. To make things even worse, when shard tried reaching for metal Sonic's core, metal sonic self destructed. Even though Shard survived, his damages were too severe, that day, the only truly pure hearted metal sonic died. No other metal Sonic's were pure hearted in the Archie comics, and when the series rebooted, shard never came back, and neither did a free will metal sonic. Because no matter how much any metal sonic has, they'll lose it in the end. The reason? Because in the end of it all, Metal Sonic's only purpose, is to destroy Sonic.
