As Liberian, I agree with this post. We don’t have strong, cultural attachment, like most of Africa because of the black American influence. It goes deeper, but that’s the surface answer.

I married an African American man. He loves my Liberian culture & food and family lol! Vice versa. I knew for a fact I wasn’t going to marry a Liberian man because of my observance from my own father and even other Liberian men I’ve known growing up…. I immigrated to the states when I was 2 and I’m 28 now. My mom always says she won’t choose for her kids in who we marry regarding race.
