I understand the nice gesture that she had did, but I also know that customers were probably there to buy a chicken even for themselves so if she thought ahead about other people, she could have called in advance days weeks and let the store know she is coming there to pick up 100 roasters at lunchtime that way there was extras for other customers as well as she would have her amount to give away. It’s called common courtesy, and not only thinking about her and what she wanted to do, but also thinking about other people‘s worth on the situation.
