post WW2, capital and Keynesian economic planners had a grand bargain where the state would provide housing and welfare, capital wouldnt have to worry about social reproduction so long as they accepted regulation of the market. of course, the neoliberals rejected all of that, but even if we went back to this idea we'd just be padding out the rough edges of capitalism to make it more palatable for workers, not necessarily making a path for the abolition of class society. not a radical concept, not even a Marxist one
