Also a lot of the LED’s added purple bulbs for some reason which was never on “normal” Christmas lights and that makes them feel wrong to me

The other thing I’ve noticed about LEDs is that they’re extremely bright at the source, but the light doesn’t seem to travel very far so it takes more bulbs to get the same brightness that you’d get with incandescents

Even though I like the colors more, I cannot justify the power consumption, unreliability, and fire risk posed by incandescent lights. they generate so much heat and when you enjoy a real Christmas tree like me that's really dangerous

I get the opinion, and I agree mostly. One thing that LEDs have over incandescent for folks that use real Christmas trees is it the lack of heat output reduces the fire danger. This is absolutely fascinating though. Like I said, I agree. It’s kind of like comparing wood stove heat to gas stove heat. There’s a level of coziness that really is missing.

the nice thing about LEDs tho is that you can adjust the doping pretty much any way you want to get different spectral outputs. that being said, companies making Xmas lights aren't spending the money to create high quality lights.
