It’s important to know that this path into tech isn’t really viable anymore - both in high tech and in tech jobs with non-tech companies. The market is saturated at this point. I think it’s important to share this in your videos.

If someone loves sales and isn’t afraid of heights, being a roofing project manager is very lucrative. My husband started at $80k (all commission) and by year 5, he was well over $400k. When he started, he knew zero about Roofing.

Operator at a refinery. Haven't made less than 170k in the last 13 years. Best year was 218k. No degree required. 3 year apprenticeship and all training is done at the refinery.

Not bad for a boot camp guy coming into the game later in life; but if we are over sharing, he’s got a bit to go. My base is just short of 300k. Make sure he puts himself into a position where he’s responsible for revenue generating code. That path is where he will clear big numbers outside the FAANG company profiles.

While my degree is in my field, I didn't find my degree helpful, but I'm a senior director in Cybersecurity and make 380k/yr and I could have got here without the degree, I've just learned on my own over the years.
