Not only does Detergent pods like Tide Pods, Gain Pods contain more microplastics, but there is a huge concentration of these chemicals: The outer film: The dissolvable pouch is made from polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), which is the plastic coating. Pods contain higher concentrations of surfactants compared to liquid detergents, with 1,4-dioxane being a known carcinogen. This concentrated formula causes issues when it contacts the skin, eyes, or mouth.
