@unknown_woodworking: I knew I was going to be very close to my pins cutting the dado for the bottom of the blanket chest build. I decided take my time to do it in multiple steps hoping to avoid an uh-oh haha. I removed the majority of the dado / groove with a dado set knowing I would need to fine tune the lower and maybe upper edge just a teeny tiny bit. With a flat top grind blade in I setup for the lower cut as close to the pin as I felt comfortable. The nice part about starting on the pin board was these were through cuts. The tail board I had stopped cuts but the fence was set to the same position. After running the cut I confirmed it with my plywood and was good to go. The tail board is maybe slightly easier as long as you remember to stop. I mark my start / stops on the fence in pencil as a pretty big warning to myself.
