Why Do I Love I am never gonna love again. My heart is a fool that has read Proverbs And has decided this is the end. What’s the point of all the pain When I tell someone my deepest feelings And at the end it feels like a choking chain? They say love is enlightening, That it is amazing— But so far all I have felt is sorrow And everything describing draining. I guess I have a type, But it is tiring. Why can’t I look someone in the eyes And they feel the same way, But instead I am left crying? And then I am a mess, It’s all a blur Of unimaginable hurt That used to be anger, But now I expect it, So I keep my mouth shut. And then I rinse and repeat, My heart wearing thin Like glass under pressure And all the suffering. Why can’t I put in a headset And enter a virtual world Where I won’t be stood up? But then She comes in, Draws me near, And I realize This world is messed up.
