The mom did not leave the child alone. The kid was supposed to go to the next-door to the neighbors. The mom has been gone since 6:30 AM. It is now 919. The kid was in 2 peoples custody. The Uncle then the neighbor. The kid eloped from the neighbors house, but the neighbor is not taking responsibility. The cops want to make an arrest so they don’t even care what the mom is saying they’re adding their own facts. They don’t know that the kid never made it to the neighbors house but they’re saying that because they want the facts to state that the mom left the kid alone at 6:30 AM, which is a story that’s not being told to them. I hope she was cleared of all charges.

Elopement is common in kids with autism. It’s crazy that the officers have no knowledge of this considering how prevalent it is in childcare in general.

So cops are so poorly trained that they don’t know what it means when a child elopes?! That is actually terrifying and it’s not always necessarily neglect especially if It’s a special needs child. Stop underestimating how sneaky and slick children can be 🤦🏼♀️

This is actually really funny. Elope is used incorrectly here in the United States because we go to the courthouse to get married so we call that being eloped, but to elope is to wander or to secretly leave

So if the mother knows that he lopes and that he wanders she shouldn't have allowed him the trust to make it to the neighbors by himself. the mother is highly aware of his wandering therefore she is wrong and needs to be charged.
