They actually had few shows in New Orleans in 70s. They are heavily associated with the city Almaty because they are from this city.

OMG that’s so crazy, i know this melody very well, but i’ve never heard about the band. So apparently the song in background uses the same melody (and maybe words?) as the one we have in Poland called „szła dzieweczka do laseczka” still commonly heard among people on different gatherings, mostly on weddings and such. It’s a given that anyone in Poland knows it, but I didnt expect its melody is so widespread. Wikipedia says it was written down in 1863, and so it must be much older than that. In other words: we’re hearing a beatleesque reedition of an ancient (200+ years at least imo) folk song known across 4000 kilometers (assuming authors of this song know it natively). Either way, what a surprise!

Gen Z mostly associate them with any big celebrations, like weddings, family party gatherings, so we listen to them a lot nowadays, they still perform on big concerts, and recently were secret guests for uni freshmens
