Una delle più grandi confusioni del nostro tempo consiste nel credere che ebraismo e sionismo siano la stessa cosa. Non lo sono. E le immagini provenienti dal quartiere ultraortodosso di Mea Shearim, a Gerusalemme, lo dimostrano ancora una volta. Quando alcuni soldati dell'esercito israeliano sono entrati nel quartiere, numerosi residenti li hanno contestati duramente. Nei video si sentono slogan come: "Siete assassini." "Siete nazisti." "Il sionismo è terrorismo." "Il sionismo non è il giudaismo." A pronunciare queste parole non sono manifestanti palestinesi. Non sono militanti di Hamas. Sono ebrei ultraortodossi, appartenenti a una corrente religiosa che rifiuta il sionismo come ideologia politica. Per una parte dell'ebraismo ultraortodosso, infatti, la nascita dello Stato d'Israele prima dell'avvento del Messia rappresenta una violazione della volontà divina che li vuole pellegrini sulla terra. Per questo motivo, tali gruppi non riconoscono il sionismo come espressione autentica della loro fede. Questo non significa che tutti gli ebrei siano antisionisti. Così come non significa che tutti gli ebrei siano sionisti. Significa semplicemente che ebraismo e sionismo sono concetti distinti. Il primo è una religione e un'identità culturale millenaria. Il secondo è un movimento politico nato alla fine del XIX secolo con l'obiettivo di creare uno Stato ebraico in Palestina. Confondere deliberatamente i due concetti produce un doppio danno. Da una parte si finisce per etichettare come "antisemita" chi critica il sionismo o il governo israeliano. Dall'altra si cancellano le profonde differenze di pensiero che esistono all'interno dello stesso mondo ebraico. Lo Spirito degli Eventi ci ricorda che comprendere la realtà significa prima di tutto distinguere. Perché senza distinzione non esiste conoscenza. Esiste soltanto propaganda. ----- 🔹 THE SPIRIT OF EVENTS – GEOPOLITICS & SPIRITUALITY 🔹 THE "ANTISEMITES" MARCHING THROUGH THE STREETS OF JERUSALEM... ARE JEWS. One of the greatest misconceptions of our time is the belief that Judaism and Zionism are the same thing. They are not. The images coming from the ultra-Orthodox neighborhood of Mea Shearim in Jerusalem remind us of this once again. When Israeli soldiers entered the area, many local residents confronted them, surrounding the troops and shouting slogans. Among the chants heard in the videos were: "You are murderers." "You are Nazis." "Zionism is terrorism." "Zionism is not Judaism." These words were not spoken by Palestinian demonstrators. They were not shouted by Hamas militants. They came from ultra-Orthodox Jews, members of religious communities that reject Zionism as a political ideology. For some ultra-Orthodox Jewish groups, the establishment of a Jewish state before the coming of the Messiah is considered contrary to God's will. For this reason, they do not regard Zionism as an authentic expression of Judaism. This does not mean that all Jews are anti-Zionists. Nor does it mean that all Jews are Zionists. It simply means that Judaism and Zionism are two different concepts. Judaism is an ancient religion and cultural identity. Zionism is a modern political movement that emerged in the late nineteenth century with the goal of establishing a Jewish homeland in Palestine. Deliberately confusing these two concepts has serious consequences. On one hand, it labels anyone who criticizes Zionism or the Israeli government as "antisemitic." On the other, it erases the diversity of views that exists within the Jewish world itself. The Spirit of Events reminds us that understanding reality begins with making distinctions.
