We said yes almost exactly 3 years ago, on Friday we close her chapter in dcfs and she becomes “ours” forever. We are all she’s ever known. Other than her nicu nurses we were the first people to hold her. No bioparent involvement. 3 years of waiting for it to be officially official.

That happened with my family, my parents got asked to take in a newborn in 2017, he was adopted in 2021, in 2019 they got asked again with his little sister, she was adopted in 2023, and in the middle of 2023 they got asked again with his baby brother who is in the process of adoption. They also took in 2 other newborns in 2021 and then end of 2023 (they are half siblings) and just this year took in another newborn girl.
