Day 2/20 over and out! Today was INTENSE! A jam-packed day of useful knowledge about the acting industry and really honing down on our craft. Golden nuggets from today: 1. Being reliable and likeable in this industry is SUPER important - people talk and ultimately want to work with actors who are kind and easy to get along with! Basic manners goes a long way in this profession if you want to see longevity! 2. Close-up shots magnify every movement 100x more than a wide shot - be super conscious of any movement of the eyes, face or body! 3. Identify “disconnects” and reduce them as much as possible as this interrupts the connection to the camera, and ultimately, the audience, which means…. You can be a great actor but if you get the technical stuff wrong, it will hurt your career in the long run! We have been given another script and some homework to assess 10mins of a TV episode and note down any technical issues an actor may have made. Safe to say - I will probably never watch a movie or TV show in the same way again (but I low-key love this!) I’ve committed myself to a 20-part series to document my acting journey at Actor’s studio.
