Riverdale, Utah - On December 31, 2023, at approximately 10:42 p.m., a 911 call came in to Weber Area Dispatch stating there was a vehicle traveling west bound on 1-84 towards Riverdale Road. The driver was allegedly intoxicated. The 911 caller identified the driver of the vehicle as 19-year-old Carter Edelman. A traffic stop was initiated, but the vehicle drove away from police officers. A pursuit was initiated, extending through Roy and Riverdale cities and occupying multiple officers across agencies. During the pursuit, the suspect deliberately collided with two police vehicles. Eventually, officers shot at the suspect's vehicle and the pursuit came to an end. Officials said minor injuries were sustained by law enforcement and the suspect, although everyone was cleared medically shortly after. A female occupant was also inside the car, arresting documents state. She told police she attended a party at Edelman's residence and saw him drink
