@516.homestead: Differences between tallow and lard I forgot to mention… - Lard has a lower smoke point of 350ish F while tallow’s smoke point is around 420F. - Lard makes incredible pie crusts, pastries, and is perfect for low heat cooking, while tallow, in my opinion, is better for high heat frying, roasting, and sauteeing. - While tallow is an incredible skincare product head to toe for most people, lard is potentially more comedogenic so it’s not great for skincare on the face for those with acne-prone skin.
