@evie.magazine: Ariana Grande is once again asking people to stop commenting on her body. She reposted her emotional 2024 interview where she talked about how dangerous and hurtful the constant scrutiny has been, saying she’s heard every version of “what’s wrong with her” since she was a teenager and reminding fans that comments about someone’s weight, even “positive” ones, can be damaging. But as the clip resurfaces, fans are split. Some say they want to respect her boundaries. Others feel worried about her and think speaking up is part of being supportive. Ariana’s message, though, is the same: stop assuming, stop diagnosing, and stop talking about women’s bodies. #arianagrande #wicked #beauty #beautystandards #celebrity

I feel like there wasn't something sinister brewing on set, I think it was just 3 women who have problems with EDs being around each other, amplifying their issues. ED's can become quite competitive

The problem is that she’s not just some random person on the street- She’s a famous singer/actress who is starring in the most popular movie right now-A movie that millions of young people are watching and saying, “I want to look just like her.” (Not to mention that she definitely promotes this look- guitar case picture) It literally triggers our brains (that’s why eating disorders are contagious) In a world where we are constantly bombarded with weight loss ads and people abusing Ozempic, it needs to be addressed. No, it’s absolutely not okay to body shame. This needs to be addressed in a ✨respectful✨manner, but it’s CRUCIAL that we have these conversations. And it’s CRUCIAL that we know the difference between body shaming and trying to prevent dangerous weight loss behavior in our young people (really any age).

I get what people are saying that you should speak up when loved ones are dangerously thin, but YOUR loved ones. This is none of our business. Leave this poor woman alone.

I’m sorry but when you’re a celebrity this is what happens. People will talk. So to always have the response “don’t talk about peoples bodies” vs talking about the drastic change that many are concerned about is sketch. I think something super natural is going on here

when someone has an ED their appearance is a sensitive subject. hearing how sickly thin they look just makes them want to stay that way or feel obligated to. it’s more of a mental issue than physical but obviously the mental aspect snowballs into physical health which is the real problem.

Does nobody remember what went on behinds the scenes of wizard of Oz too? Literally the same thing Dorothy’s actress went through.

while I totally get what she is saying she could at least say "i am okay guys you dont need to worry this is just how my body is, everyone's body is there own and comfortable in your own skin" or something along those lines

filming was years ago at this point. the filming has nothing to do with it. I also get shes an example for children but you guys are also normalizing speaking about things you shouldn't. growing up I didnt look at celebrities and want to be as small as them because they were famous. I did because my own family called me fat constantly.

I also have to say this: if anyone has been in a play or musical, it is ALOT of work. I did a play and a musical and dropped 10 lbs without realizing because I was dancing and singing and accidentally skipping meals! I cannot imagine doing a 5 YEAR production and not losing a significant amount of weight. She put her whole soul into that movie and you can tell. Let her heal. The comments are truly getting annoying. She did the role justice.
