I'd also add that there's a lot more pressure I would say put on women than men. In my experience there is definitely pressure on men, but for a man at most it's a loss of status for not getting more than one wife, but for women there is no choice at all and the culture comes for the women a lot of younger than the men I think.... at the very least with such predatory intentions where your life is actually in danger for rejecting or opposing it at all. It's kind of hard to describe, because the men get preyed on too, but it's not the same exactly because of the power dynamic and I think there's a lot more likelihood of being in physical danger for women.
