That makes sense. When you aren't allowed to interact with the consumers of your content, I guess you'd have no idea who these people were or what their intentions were. It leaves a lot of possibilities open. Especially if younweee made to feel like you need "protection" from it. Even if you had known they were fans, even if you had been in the right headspace, that's still a lot to handle. I think our brains are primed to believe a lot of crazy things about ourselves on their own if no one teaches you to quiet them and remain focused on what's real. It's so much worse if a person you trust reinforces the crazy things (especially on purpose to take advantage of you!!!).
