Yeah thats the thing, I was looking for authenticity in genuine human connection, not performative manipulation 👏✨

Mirroring is something humans do naturally, often without realizing it. It’s NOT fake; it’s a sign of how safe or unsure someone feels. When mirroring happens constantly, it can show a lack of comfort or compatibility, NOT deceit. And sometimes the reason it feels unsettling is because we’re seeing parts of ourselves reflected back that we haven’t made peace with yet.

Ever noticed how a strong friend group had a wide variety of personalities? Yeah, mirroring is going to cause a not great vibe often.

to all the people trying to say mirroring people is toxic or the problem, mirroring is so normal and not just a neurodivergent thing. 😭 you would not act the same around your parents as you would with your friends. does that mean you're being inauthentic with one group? No! we are 3 dimensional creatures. we can exist in more than one way and that's NORMAL.

Some of the best advice I can give as someone with Bi-Polar-2 (A very specific type of cluster B personality disorder, unfortunately hereditary), You must force yourself to separate your identity from the disorder. The best way to do this is to constantly repeat "The symptoms of my disorder are not my defining attributes, I am separate from the disorder, the disorder is not who I am, nor who I want to be." This helps the subconscious mind fight back against the disorder instead of submitting to the symptoms, the subconscious mind is far more powerful than most think.

I only mirror whenever I don’t want a permanent friendship with someone, it makes it easy in the moment, but it only causes issues later on

opposites do attract at times. My brother and his wife are both loud and open. So am I. However, my fiance is very soft and quiet. My brother's relationship is healthy and so is mine.
