Kids do things like this but its the parents job to clean up after them or don't allow it in the room. so if anything be upset at the parents not the kids.

Food and drinks are not allowed in any room but the kitchen. BUT if I were in that situation I would have the kids clean it (or help if they are super young). And I would have them apologize to you and the painters. You did a kindness and that’s not how we treat things that people gave to us. I would be mortified!!

I don’t allow anything but water in bedrooms (and popcorn for sleepovers) but I would make my kids apologize, clean, and even tip you if they had a few dollars bc they made you clean again (however I recognize this is a family in need so this part wouldn’t be an option here) They may be kids now but I’m raising future adults and this is how they learn. We appreciate peoples efforts, and pay extra if they have to do extra work.

I feel like this would have been a great learning experience. You could have made this a fun learning experience for them to learn what to use and how to use it. Making a video that they might see later could make them feel shameful and inadequate

I would first talk to my son about what upset him because he wouldn’t do that without having a reason and there was also a big change so I’d try to get to the bottom of things first. Then I would have him clean it up ❤️✨ 🧽

They’d be cleaning that themselves for one. We don’t allow that behavior in my house and no food or drinks in bedrooms. Only kitchen and dining area.

If the kids are able bodies, I would have them start cleaning it (keeping the task age appropriate) and they would not get soda for an age appropriate period of time.

if she doesn’t know, she’s not checking on them enough 🤷🏽♀️if my kid is in his room i go and check on him. if my kid is playing video games i go and hang out in there for a little.
