I love the Lemonheads too since high school. Have you heard the new album? I haven't listened to it yet. Evan Dando just did a show in Boston but I didn't go. Sorry to hear about your friend. I'm glad she had that experience too. Fun story for sure. Love that he picked Joni to listen to.

Not about Evan Dando, but I met Elliott Smith a few times. I was bartending in Portland in the late 90s. One time he came alone on a really slow night. He sat at the bar and told me about going to the Oscar's and meeting Celine Dion and how she calmed him down before his performance. He also talked about losing his wallet in the ocean while in Australia and losing his passport. While he was sitting there, he was also jotting some words down on a few cocktail napkins. I still have those cocktail napkins.

I saw the Lemon Heads play at the 9:30 club in DC around 1994 or 95 . it was a great show. I think Match Box 20 was the opening band and I had never heard of them before that night.

That’s a great story! He was one of my first crushes and years later I got pulled on stage to sing “Alison’s starting to Happen” with them and I got a kiss on the cheek. I hope he’s doing better too.

I also hung out with Evan Dando! Not as cool a story as yours. Just me and my friend met him in a bar after his show with Eugene Kelly and hung out for an hour or so. He was lovely.
