Everyone with this “OSU wasn’t the problem” stuff. Nobody thinks it is but if Texas played a cupcake instead and had a 10-2 record, it wouldn’t even be a discussion. Texas would firmly be in the CFP. It’s not worth the risk to schedule competitive non-conference games.

Osu wasn’t the problem. It was losing 18 spots after getting beat by Fla. they didn’t cover the spread on SJSU and UTSA as well as having to go to overtime with Kentucky and Miss state. Both of those teams combined to win 1 more game than Texas. Stop saying Osu is the problem. They just weren’t good/consistent enough this year to make the playoffs.

Funny thing is the second you take that game off will be the second you need that p4 named win to get in and get left out and I’m gonna point and laugh at Texas for making emotional decisions

All I'm saying is they were still a top 10 team after that Ohio St loss. Maybe they schedule Clemson instead and lose that game too lol. Texas on paper have it all but them barely beating Mississippi St and Kentucky in OT just aint cutting it

Even without the Ohio st game, that Florida loss and the overtime wins be Kentucky and miss st would have worked them out of the top 15

As far as playing top quality teams Ohio state top ranked undefeated team play Texas Georgia top rank one lost team play Notre Dame Oklahoma top rank two lost team play Michigan Texas top rank three lost team played Ohio State I see a pattern here

Texas was ranked #11 in the first playoff poll, that was with the loss to Ohio State, with the loss to Florida and the OT games vs Kentucky and Miss St.. So none of those games keep them out of the playoff, it is simply the third loss..

You're missing this. Texas is the highest ranked three lost team, because they played Ohio State. Oklahoma is the highest ranked two-loss team, because they played Michigan, Ohio state is the highest ranked undefeated team because they played Texas. strength of schedule is working. Texas would be number eight if they had beaten Florida.

They only beat OU because the QB just had surgery on his hand, so should be a 4 lose team and was almost a 6 loss team. Texas might not even be a top 25 team

Texas went on road up to ann arbor last year vs defending NC...and then went back on road to Columbus this year vs defending NC. OU hosted Houston last year and then hosted Michigan this season...yeah something ain't right with that when u don't even reciprocate home and away vs the so called non con p4 opponents.

All Power 4 teams need to get rid of the out of conference top 10 match ups. If they all did that, Notre Dame would have to join a conference. Yet here we are again with them getting a playoff spot with a mountain west strength of schedule. The only ranked team they beat was #18 USC.

NCAA knows this. They would be dumb for not putting Texas in. You want the OSU game to matter? Force everyone into playing big out of conference games by rewarding Texas for scheduling a big out of conference game.
