@ancientarcheology: Among the famous Dead Sea Scrolls discovered in Qumran, one artifact stood out as a complete anomaly: 3Q15, known as the Copper Scroll. Unlike the other texts written on parchment or papyrus, this document was hammered onto thin sheets of copper mixed with tin. While the other scrolls contained religious or literary works, this scroll is a detailed, pragmatic inventory listing 64 specific locations where vast quantities of gold and silver were hidden. Scholars believe this text describes the location of the treasury of the Second Temple of Jerusalem, hurriedly buried before the Roman destruction in 70 CE. #History #archaeology #Science #ancienthistory #deadseascrolls
