My brother was baptized at St Illuminators and we both attended their day school in the 90s. We did NOT go to St Vartans - they were the opps. 😭😭 happy to report the church is pretty much unified and we started going to both.

I listened to a podcast about ephemera where somebody collected a bunch of Armenian vinyl records, I believe from old record stores in this area (I listened to it years ago so the details are fuzzy, but i def think the neighborhood was mentioned)

It’s across the 7 train now in Sunnyside around Sunnyside pizza. There’s an apartment building around the corner I grew up in where everybody was Armenian :) also an Armenian coffee shop called Paruyr’s
