@jnrauto3: Is this normal on my gmc Acadia it kicks on a p0087 code and when I put it in gear to drive away it kick a engine power reduced on the display otherwise runs great revs up normal any ideas ?

like others said id check the hp fuel pump, that will cause spikes in pressure. maybe even clogged filter.

If it is direct injection, I’d try to isolate the issue by disconnecting the low pressure fuel feed to the engine and checking the static pressure there. Then I’d leave it for a few hours and see how far it drops. If everything is okay there, pull the high side pump and check the lifter and cam lobe. If those are okay, change the High side mechanical pump.
