The US is only half developed, so half the voltage match the country...... 🤣

The US use both, just about every home has the capacity for 110 and 220 as they have 3 cables entering the home from the pole transformer 0v and two 110v very similar to a two phase supply🤔

Power grid is 100’s of thousands of volts in transmission . That will go to a local substation. That’ll step it down to a few thousand volts Then you have a transformer at your house that steps the power down to 240 V which most houses in the US use 240 V

they allso only use 210v 3 phase when the rest of us use 380v to 420v

The US household uses 120v to 480v. We like variety here.

our elastic grid is much more than 220. I dont know who makes this up. Its not true. Transformers are on pole to step voltage down to come into our homes. 110 is one phase out of 3 carried in utility service. 3 phase is much more efficient than 1 or 2.

if you are refering to the voltage of tranmission lines than the voltage of these lines is 110 kV, 220 kV and over and not 110 V or 220 V as you are saying.

110V requires thicker cable size since the current ampere is higher compared to 220V

Uk uses 240 volts 512 volts in factory’s. It’s not the voltage that kills but the current

the real answer is, the capitalist. it's too costly to throw away warehouses of 110V appliances to switch to 220V 😁

nowhere in the world is 110v, or even 220v standard used for long distance transmission lines. Those operate at thousands or tens of thousands of volts to lessen line losses, with transformers stepping down the voltage locally for consumption. also american homes have 220v going in to them, but the voltage is split inside the house to get to 110
