The parents were obviously not prepared for the flight.There's many ways to relieve ear pressure, even with babies.I'd be angry too forty five minutes is ridiculous

screaming children is aweful for everyone. I dont want strangers yelling at me or trying to help me. parents need to have items to help their children's ear pop, prep kids for flights by having bottles ready, motrin, toys to keep them busy, special items for example. there's already power hungry flight attendants no need to add this as well. we dont need to discriminate against children and what matters is you arrived safe to your destination.
