Hi hi dental hygienist student from netherlands! Here we really reccomend the right size of interdental brushes to patients after they got their deep cleanings done. They really help with getting the gums healthy in between the teeth, removing the plaque and reducing pocket depth over time. Floss needs good technique and understanding of tooth anatomy if you want it to be effective. But it does not fill the larger areas in between the teeth well

Been a dental assistant for over 25 years and I’ve never seen healthy looking teeth have periodontal disease. Go with a periodontal specialist so he can save your teeth

I had this and the only fix was a deep clean from a perio dentist and I also had a skin graph done on my lower gums. Spent the next 2 years brushing and flossing 3x a day but it worked! There is NO easy fix

I got to this at 44 and reversed the damage with a below gum deep clean , followed by religious flossing, small brush, electric toothbrush and normal toothbrush every damn day. takes me 15 min to do but it saved my teeth and I'm 47 now

Just to clarify bc it’s being “labeled” incorrectly. Periodontal disease is irreversible and once the periodontium is involved, it can only be maintained, not reversed back to a healthy state. Gingivitis is reversible and good hygiene can fix it.

i am a periodontist. you need to get surgical debridments done (pocket reduction surgery). regular cleaning will not get it done. you need to see a experienced periodontist for treatment

I didn’t go to the dentist for 16 years 🫣 I went for the first time last year and I had no problems. My dentist said I have phenomenal genetics to not have any issues after 16 years.

Guys if you are not a dentist or periodontist you cannot give advice. You can’t just fix this with mouth wash, it’s a long and painful road back to arresting the disease

Everyone saying you need this and that. Like I'm sure she knows what she needs. what most people lack is the funds to do it. I have periodontal disease also (not this bad yet) but I can't do anything about it cuz I can't afford the treatment.

This happened to me due to neglect. Paid 2k for a laser treatment at a periodontist. Ever since, my gums have been great. 0 problems. No more bleeding
