I’m from Anchorage and was 12 when Samantha went missing and I think about her a lot. I was a barista supervisor for several years and a lot of the teenagers didn’t understand why I was so strict about who/when/how the trash got taken out when it was dark outside because they were too young to remember Sammy.

I was married to a real psychopath. he used to tell a childhood story about how he threw a hot bubbling tortilla on his younger sisters face and burned her badly . to this day he finds that story hilarious. his face would light up when telling it . he was good looking to like Israel.

I wonder sometimes how is daughter is doing. He was such an enigma for a serial killer because he didn’t have a “type” didn’t matter age, male or female, body type, ect. He just wanted to kill and have the best chance of getting away with it. It’s also odd he got so sloppy in Samantha’s case. I kind of wonder if he was almost hoping to be caught

So interesting. I always think about how serial killers come to be, if it’s nature or nurture or a combo of both. Seems like most are predisposed to it and life circumstances kind of push them more to become killers.
