@growithjessie: These are mealworms that usually you’d feed to your lizard…but I…had other plans. I brought 25 giant mealworms home to feed my venus fly trap, but then I started to wonder…what do these turn into? And it was in that moment, I had a plan to let them live. I watched as metamorphosis happened. The worms started to shed their brown skin and wiggle out as a pupa. But what exactly do they turn into after this? Well…after 5 or 6 days of watching them flip back and forth continuously, it finally happened and all my questions got answered. The pupa shed skin and emerged as a darkling beetle! It stayed pale pink for 5 hours, until it miraculously turned brownish-blackish in colour. Luckily, they can’t fly, so that’s good for me. Before I knew it, more started to transform, so I started feeding them, and they started subsequently crawling on top of each other and well, mating. Now, I want to build them a cool enclosure so they can live their best lives, and so we can get them all pregnant.
