@feralforaging: All foragers should use this! We’ve just completed our personal foraging journal feature, which is completely free for everyone to use in Gather, The Foraging App. (link in bio) I wanted to add or emphasize a few more pieces of info here that I didn’t get to cover in the video. First, all the entries you add are completely private by default. Eventually, we’ll be adding social features so you can share them with your friends if you wish, but that is all completely optional. (Share this with a friend you’d want to join your foraging circle 😄) Next, I want to tell you about some of the upcoming capabilities we’re adding to the journal. One, which is particularly important to me, is the export feature. I hate when apps lock you into using their platform, so we give you the ability to export all of your entries so that you can use them however you wish! We’re also adding a mapping feature so you’ll be able to see all your entries in a top-down view. (This will combine with the filters to make it super easy to find and plan your foraging outings around particular species) Right now, the app is available in the USA and Canada, but soon we’ll be bringing the journal feature to many other countries as well. When you first download the app, know that you will be shown a subscription screen for the premium features of Gather. You can always try these out for two weeks with a free trial if you choose, but all the features shown in this video are free, no trial or subscription is needed. If you’re a forager, homesteader, or herbalist, I think this journal will be a huge help to you! It’s made me so happy being able to go back and track all of my past finds in one place.
