Police are trained to detach because that’s way too much trauma on a day to day for any human to deal with. It’s sad but as a former 911 operator I understand. Sometimes it is hard to detach tho, I was never like this. They just sound extremely cold

Oh, this brings back horrible memories with losing my son in a car accident . They wouldn't let me get to him. I just wanted to call his name and see if he would answer. It is the worse thing in the world having to walk away and not be able to check on him. I felt like he was calling for me . They held me back. It was awful. They said you don't want to see him like that, it's not there place to tell me I don't want to see him like that. I still have nightmare thinking he might have been calling for me. I regret not fighting harder to get to him
