The “is this for marks” gets asked at least twice a day and it KILLS ME! It is for your learning, therefore you should just do it no questions asked. And the redo questions!

What would have sent us into a coma was the incessant talking and the no boundaries/constant touching and the lack of independence. I have high school students that have no desire to get a license. Kids that are happy to have a 40 in class. Like, are y'all embarrassed by anything?

I am a “is this for a grade” person because I’m sick of doing assignments just for teachers not to grade them because they’re lazy!🤗 idgaf if you’re not grading it I’m not doing it. There’s not enough time in my day for me to be doing busy work for the sake of just having something to do

I read a really interesting article recently about how modern students (HS and college) have a “customer service” view of education. Even the most academically successful students often see teachers as being there to fulfill one end of a transaction, instead of seeing themselves as active participants in a genuinely beneficial process

I got cramps so bad one day during a math test (this was like 20+ yrs ago) I started silently crying at my desk from the pain. When the teacher asked if I needed to go home I said yes and resigned that I failed the test. When she gave me the test the next day and told me to finish ... my brain didn't comprehend I was allowed to.

I allow my students to do redos…we learn from our mistakes, right? And my goal is for them to learn- not punish them with poor grades. I’m GLAD they ask for a redo. It shows they want to learn and shows initiative.
