My daughter started drinking from the dr. Brown sippy cup that has a straw. She got the hang of it right away but I waited until she was older than that, I think like 8 or 9 months

surprising my 6 month old took his first sippy perfect ! it’s the weighted straw dr brown one, after i let him practice that for awhile, i tried an regular straw and he did perfect other than gulping too much 🤣

Absolutely no need for a sippy cup. All 3 of my kids were exclusively breastfed and once they started solids at 5-6mo they drank from straws. Just keep giving the baby the straw cup and they’ll figure it out

My girl learned to drink from a straw cup with the help of steak juice from Texas Roadhouse 😂 took one time and she’s been doing it ever since

Weighted straw cups with the soft tips you just don’t want anything stiff because if they fall and have it in there mouth it can cause damage and a infection not trying to worry you I just had a friends daughter who had it happen

Would highly highly recommend not using plastic straws. I’m an ENT and have seen several kids fall and cut the back of their throats with a plastic straw. Use one that’s rubber or collapsible so it’s less traumatic. Just my 2 cents
