It blew a red light at East 7th Avenue and North 15th Street. He hit his lights for a stop. The car pulled over right in front of 1416 East 7th Avenue. Brown talked to the driver, 23-year-old Alexia Lezama. While chatting, he saw signs she was impaired. He smelled booze too. Later, she said she and her passenger came from Club Prana in Ybor City. She owned up to drinking before driving. Brown suspected DUI, so he had her step out. Officer Baden showed up to help with sobriety tests. Baden began with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus check. Next came the Walk and Turn. Alexia missed heel-to-toe steps. She turned wrong and took the wrong count. Then the One Leg Stand. She couldn't lift her foot right. Her red light run, impairment clues, booze admission, and bad test scores sealed it. Officers arrested her for DUI. Her friend yelled at them, then walked off. Baden took Alexia to Orient Road Jail.
