I think the day to day life context is used to cast the whole situation in a certain light.. Because their day to day lives aren't ours to know to even be concerned about. Beyond that, it's a bit of sexism beit based on precedence or otherwise. Cute kids(literally any person I'm older, or larger than) are cute, cute actions are cute. It should be either weird for all, or okay for all, but that's not our world, so the standard is indeed ✌

It is a double standard but I believe it’s one that needs to be in place. Male content creators need to play it smart and not put themselves in position where they can be misunderstood. I agree it would be weird if they said more than thank you. As for female content creators, there is more freedom that they possess with whom and how they respond for example: female content, creator response to a comment from a younger male, she can easily be regarded as just being sweet and kind. A male content creator responding to a younger female would immediately be considered a creep. Now, the idea that he would not sound like that on a day-to-day basis can be said the same about the female content creator. It just happens to be that the likelihood of the two commenting in such a way would be in the position of the female content creator. Overall, yeah, it would be weird, but for male content creators, it would be smart to keep things short and sweet. The double standard exist, but for good reason.

I'm ngl I think both groups shouldn't condone younger audiences of opposite gender. if a young boy comments on an older girls page, she should probably not say anything back too. I get the younger audience wants to show love and appreciation which is lovely but just because we are online people are a bit too comfortable and things get weird. would young boy say "I love you" to the girl creator irl? probably not. in which case, this behaviour whilst sweet, it's also just slightly unrealistic that this type of stuff holds in real life. the younger kids who say I love you so much omg are usually not coming from a place of support, it's usually adoration and glorification, which is dangerous for the young minds! kids start latching onto things which don't really matter
