During the winter I crave soups, and in Italy “minestrone soup” was a traditional everyday meal. Summer though is too hot for soups. Do your parents eat them even when it’s hot?

soup culture makes a lot of sense, boiling things helps kill harmful viruses and bacteria, warmth from cooking warms the whole home, uses up old/leftover ingredients, and is just a generally nutritious meal, i can see why it sort of evolved in china

Same with Russian culture. Our elders all ate soup with almost every meal. Then gen x came around and that art has been lost. My grandma who is 85 still asks me if I had soup
