@corina_907: Patients who smell their floss as I’m flossing their teeth and ask me why it stinks is when I chat with them on how perio and gum disease isn’t just a visual change, but it’s a literal destruction of bone and gum tissue from bacteria! 🦠 we always talk about it perio, but sometimes it doesn’t click for them until they actually smell it

Well that’s not necessarily abnormal. I mean that one spot would probably smell bad since it’s a catchall spot. That doesn’t mean that when you’re talking to someone that you have bad breath.

I swear they put my crown in wrong and it always has a metallic ick smell and I’ve never had it till I got it and now my gums look more down around that tooth and they say nothings wrong

I floss every single day. Twice. I have a fake tooth that always catches food, and the floss stinks EVERYTIME I floss it 🙄 I go for cleanings twice a year, and they’ve never mentioned anything :(

I brush, floss and use water pic and use mouth wash 2-3 times a day I’ve spent thousands on dental work they never told me i have perio plus i don’t have tonsils.. 🤷🏻‍♀️i think it’s my gut that my next step

So this can be one spot? I had to get a crown over a failed root canal tooth and it’s literally the only that spot where there’s a distinct smell when I floss
