@sophiemorrisofficial: It drives me mad that in-store bakeries aren’t required to display their ingredients lists at the point of sale… In general, supermarket in-store bakery bread is produced in a central factory, partially baked and then frozen. It is then shipped to individual supermarkets, where it is simply finished or “baked off” in store ovens to give the appearance of being freshly baked. This practice is used for efficiency, but can be misleading to consumers who think the bread is being made from scratch in the store and therefore wouldn’t contain additives! My reel on the Lidl bakery bread showed that this isn’t the case as many of their breads do contain unnecessary additives and would be considered ultra processed. This is why I believe there should be a requirement for clearer labelling on these in-store bakeries. The good news is the Dunnes in store bakery breads are real bread! I did laugh when I spotted their new fermented turnover bread, which makes me wonder if it’s their answer to the Stafford’s fermented turnover that has become hugely popular since my clever swap video on sliced bread! I love their organic sourdoughs — Yes, they’re more expensive but what I would do is slice them up straight away and into the freezer, then just toast as you need. That way you’ll have no waste and make the most of the value of buying good quality bread. I still think we need full transparency in store. These breads should have their ingredients listed at the bakery so people can make their own informed choices. But now that we’ve seen what’s actually in them, I’m really happy to say that the breads in the Dunnes in-store bakery are the real deal 🍞 #sophiesswaps #cleverswaps

Oh dear God. Buy the bread, enjoy your life. You were given one life. Stop spending it in supermarkets reading ingredients. Life is for living

I avoid in-store bread as it's exposed to dirty hands picking them up and squeezing them and people sneezing and coughing over them. I've literally seen this.

I had the sound off. Was there any mention of the potential carcinogenic effects of the very burnt breads?

Dunnes bread looks amazing, tastes great too but still would love to see the ingredients displayed. Some breads are called sourdough but still made with yeast too. How salty it is, do they add sugar ? We are just left to guess that is healthy bread ? Is it ?

in this day and age, all bread should be wrapped with something. I could never pick any of these, too many germs floating around to have uncovered bakery goods. not to mention how many people with dirty hands are touching them.

I have gut issues and DS seeded sourdough is amazing. Staffords bread is always stale lately since is became very popular no matter where I buy it

Never buy for this exact reason. I get my sourdough from artisan bakery. Too mush food fraud in supermarkets.
