favorite philosopher btw Immanuel Kant is an 18th—century German philosopher, one of the most influential thinkers in the history of Western philosophy, and the founder of classical German idealism. He lived in Konigsberg (now Kaliningrad) and hardly ever left this city, but his ideas radically changed the way people understand knowledge, morality and reason. His main idea is that human cognition does not just "reflect" the world, but actively shapes it. We never perceive reality directly: everything we see and understand is already structured by our forms of perception (space and time) and categories of reason (for example, causality). Therefore, we cannot know "things by themselves", but only how they appear to us in experience. There is an important twist in Kant's philosophy: he tries to answer not only the question "what exists?", but also the question "how is knowledge about it possible?". This makes him the founder of the so—called "critical philosophy" - a philosophy that explores the boundaries and conditions of reason. In ethics, Kant argues that morality does not depend on benefits, emotions, or circumstances. A person must act according to an internal moral law, which can be expressed through a categorical imperative: act in such a way that the rule of your action can become a universal law for all. This makes morality universal and based on respect for reason and human dignity. He also distinguished between the world of phenomena (what we can know) and the world of "things in themselves" (what exists independently of our perception, but is inaccessible to full knowledge). It is this boundary between the known and the unknowable that is one of the key ideas of his philosophy. In general, Kant tried to find a balance: to show that reason is capable of powerful scientific knowledge, but it is not omnipotent; that morality is objective, but comes from man himself; and that freedom is possible precisely because of reason and inner law. #philosophy #targetaudience #immanuelkant #malicemizer
