The Barbell Back Squat is one of my favorite exercises, building leg strength through your quads, hamstrings and glutes, while secondarily providing a great core workout. Form is key when it comes to squats. One thing not mentioned in the video is depth; work to go as low as your mobility allows without rounding your back. For me, I warm up a little more on squats than anything else to make sure my joints are nice and loose. A shoulder width stance while also driving your glutes back and knees out is a great way to gain more depth. Once at the bottom, with a slight bounce at the bottom, picture yourself being pulled straight up by a rope attached to your lower back. Another tip I overlooked in the video is thumb placement. I’ve had a lot of success putting my thumb on TOP of the bar, which has helped me drive the bar downward emphasizing the lift in my legs and creating a more neutral bar grip. Start working on your barbell back squat for the strongest legs and core you’ve ever built. #gymtips #squat #weightlifting
