Hi Ella, this has been amazing for me, thank you so much. When I read you say your hair will feel greasy and generally a bit crap but you won’t really care, this is so spot on. I genuinely can’t believe how happy I’ve been just to leave it 🤣 and reckon I’ve kept about 60% of my hair. I mean it’s thin but to the untrained eye they’d definitely not know. However my lashes and brows are another story 😳 I’m now one week post 4xEC 4xpaclitaxel and wondered when it’s likely to stop shedding and when I can plan in a hair cut. Obviously appreciate this is totally individual but as you’ve become my cold cap hair expert, I thought I’d ask 🤣

Exactly this! Life chances completely and I treat my hair as I was treating a newborn baby. Cold capping helps but does not eliminate hair loss.

Hi Ella, just come across our page and this is super helpful! I’m 1/2 way through 16 rounds. Definitely taking some of this advice, I thought I was being super careful but realised I can do a few more bits! my shedding had really increased over last week so want to try and minimise as much as possible. Hope you are doing ok! xx

Hi Ella. Just happened to come across your post. Always good to see other people’s journey. So firstly I hope you’re ok and the journey is treating you well as can be. I am stage 4 prostate but now in bones and nodes. Did my 6 months chemo last year and tried so hard to find a hospital to try the cold cap not out of any vanity but more because because I knew once hair lost I had to face I was not well. People who have not had this journey think it’s just hair but it’s not …… it symbolises us ….. you let something take that control away and it hurts. We can’t stop my cancer but we can slow it down and this is what chemo was for and I have had 9 months with a very low PSA count but my last blood test shows the cancer is back. Scans and tests the last 2 weeks and will have results this week and from there we see what we can do. I wish you all the best on your journey and keep on smiling …… best ….. Gary x
