I would have checked for voltage at the glow plugs first with their harness. I will admit it was handy to have an extra harness, but not needed. If the exhaust is smoking while cranking you can say its not a fuel issue right off the bat. The glow plug controller would have said that those glow plugs were not working.

Yet didn’t mention ficm voltage. 95% it’s ficm. Glow plugs show codes.

All of the dealer techs listen to what he said at the end. You don’t work for free. This is a major problem with warranty times and the flat rate system.

i just wanna know what dealerships u r getting these jobs from, i work at a dealer and we get tons of vehicles from people not being able to diag properly and those shops bring them to us not the customer, very rarely do customers take there vehicles and then bring it to us, but what management is allowing people to open the parts can not actually diag and then ship it? u make vids like this all the time. however id put my shop and group of techs up against anyone and we r a ford dealer. coulda figured this out in a hour or two. dealers get bad raps because vids like this, but indy shops r just as bad at places
