There was a belief that the reason his dad banned him from playing with young kids because Josh did something to a kid before they moved to the house where he killed Maddie. His family had only moved there the year before the incident. I don’t think it was an accident, personally.

I think the dad knew he was capable of doing great harm to a child but I don’t think he thought he would kill a child. Praying this is an eye opener how fast things can go bad. RIP Maddie 🥺💯🙏

Having societal expectations that you wouldn’t wanna play with younger kids as you get older is one thing but it being a house rule that you can’t play with kids in a certain age group is very different and very suspicious.

This is my hometown. I vividly remember her going missing. I was 7 months pregnant with my daughter and on bedrest so I couldn’t go look for her. Josh never needs to get out. There’s so much more to his actions BEFORE he killed Maddie.

he should have grabbed her and run her to HER house and bluntly told the adults that he was afraid of his dad. no person should ever feel so afraid of their parent that THIS ever occurs to them in a million years.

Kids need to stop being left alone outside no matter how safe you think your neighborhood is, every parent is known to say “ you see it on tv and never think it’ll happen to you” but it can and that’s the point, this poor baby didn’t deserve that! Why as parents we think we shouldn’t have our heads on a swivel knowing how cruel the world is even from back then to now! It was way worse back then and nobody ever locked their doors either! It’s so sad 😞
