Thank you for sharing this. My mum used to run a small coffee shop inside my uncle’s internet café, and I worked there growing up. I witnessed first-hand how internet cafés, especially those run by Somalis, created a lifeline for our community. People came in to connect with family abroad, send money home, and support relatives outside the UK. It was a place of connection, responsibility, and community.
