As an eastern rite Catholic, I’ve never bought into “eternity” as what happens after death. Eternity is the past, the present, and the future all at once. It’s the plane of existence where Jesus exists, and the liturgy is the closest point to this, where heaven and earth meet and we are not just symbolically representing the last supper, passion, and resurrection, but we are truly experiencing it because it’s always happening. All this to say I don’t believe in an afterlife the way many western Christians do, but rather heaven and hell are states of consciousness that we experience while we are here on Earth. If you are experiencing hell on earth, that moment is eternal, and same for when you experience heaven on earth.

I got saved almost a year & a half ago.& it has always seemed odd to me that a lot of Christian influencers will come on here & condemn people to hell. I always think about the people who suffered serious religious trauma, walked away from the church, & are now living healthier lives. & so many Christians will say that person is going to hell because they have rejected Christ & turned from the faith. But I feel it deep in my spirit. That if Jesus is who he says he is. & that God is merciful & full of love. Surely he would not damn this person to hell when they received a version of Jesus/Gospel that was completely distorted & consisted of judgement /hatred/shame. & I’ve been told a few times that im not truly saved because of the way I think. But i truly think that he was much more concerned about what we do here now on earth. Rather than an eternal hell.

Not a Christian anymore but your deliberative free will ends when you die as there is no more moral progress because you do not have a body to experience things to deliberate from. When you die your soul as it is freely chooses God or hell eternally as angels do. In fact if this argument were true it would apply to angels as well and would make Satan and demons impossible. But I could be misunderstanding.

Healed souls choose light. Broken souls choose the love of power. But those reject healing due to absence of trust. Hell is real because places that are distant from God are real. What I can’t confirm or deny is whether that place can contain people eternally or if hell & Death itself are actually punished eternally.

Isn't this simple begging the question? You assume that full clarity eliminates the capacity to reject God. And Jesus isn't the best example because He is fully God and man. How does Hart deal with some Angels and all Demons rejecting God with full knowledge?
