@thinkingcanine: Lots of people weighed in on this dog’s behavior across platforms and I think the explanation that resonates the most with me isn’t that it’s just puppy behavior, a dog wanting to play tug with the towel. That’s based on the freeze, low posture, and vocalization but what do you think?
No amount of explanation can justify having a long leash on your dangerous dog when you can’t control it.

That Dog Guy :
as someone with a dutchie, it looks like prey drive with its roots in herding instinct, definitely not a dog id ever let on that loose of a leash without a much higher level of control

Dog needs to be desensitized and learn recall

The person was running and running straight at the owner . Is it a protection thing ???? I know my dog is protective I keep her on a shorter leash . She won’t let strangers come near my children if they were running like that . I get the jogger was minding his business and I’m glad he wasn’t bite .

So I'm not a professional, and I don't own a Malinois but a Tervueren, but no that was not play. Ny boy struggled as a youngster with wanting to control fast-moving things (bikes, joggers, skateboards...) and if I hadn't nipped it in the bud it could easily have become neurotic, which is what I think that was: stress/nerves with a low threshold to aggression.

my dog doesn't like joggers bikes or scooters, I know this so he stays close to me where I can control him. he never has more than a 2 foot lead away from me but I also keep aware and hold him close when I see things he doesn't react well too. he's gone for intensive training and isn't as bad now, but I can never trust him 100%

this time I side with dog owner. she's responsible. she's answered the comments. she trained the dog well. even police dog, when being recall, still continue to bite

She gave the yes command before the dog even came back she said yes when the dog was looking at the other dog so her dog thought it was allowed to go to the dog instead of learning recall

The stretch Leeds or long line should have been banned long ago as from my experience most of the owners wouldn’t have a clue how to control their dogs.
