Eddie wanted to not run but that didn’t mean to die 😭 running is a survival instinct & I’m sure running up that hill foreshadowed that he needed to run (like max) but he didn’t want to!

I think it was both Eddie sacrificed himself for the team but also to prove to himself that he could and didn’t run. The thing is if he were brought back, the town would go after him. Sadly, I think him sacrificing himself was the best option even though it was painful.
