What I actually dislike about new construction is how cheap and soulless it is. A lot of new homes and construction just looks… plastic. Older homes tend to have better bones and more character. Fast fashion is similar… They don’t make sweaters like they did in the 80’s and 90’s! Everything is way too mass produced.

I don’t think so cuz those older houses always felt “homey” like they were always so inviting at the time versus most new construction feels cold and bland and I feel like that’s where it turns people off. I think it’s all beautiful just has different vibes

Yes this does happen which is why I think it’s important to stick with somewhat plain finishes on the inside of your home that skew classic or match with the outside aesthetic of your home / neighborhood and then decorate with more trendy things that are easier to replace or swap out later on
